FOCUS: This position will focus primarily on performing repairs and maintenance on company owned heavy trucks & trailers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Diagnoses mechanical problems
Performs repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment to maximize safe and productive operations.
Ability to trouble shoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
Assess and repair equipment on a team and individual basis
Perform inspections and recommend repairs on equipment to help eliminate down time
Working with the parts team to quote the correct parts for repairs
Writing detailed reports of the repairs made on equipment for proper documentation and completes associated paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounts for applied times (work order times verses time card times)
Communicates with supervisor and/or equipment operators/drivers for clarification of problems, discusses preventative techniques with equipment users to minimize future repairs.
Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes
Fabrication and welding repairs
EXPERIENCE:
Computer skills needed to input work orders and other required information to maintenance system, as well as computer diagnostics.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational school helpful.
